High School That Meets You Where You Are

For young men in recovery, high school can feel like an obstacle. At Pivot, we believe it should be part of the solution. Our high school program is designed for residents who need to finish their diploma in a space that understands what they’re going through. No shame, no pressure, just a calm, supportive setting where you can focus on learning and keep moving forward in your recovery.

What Makes This High School Different

We’ve created a small, quiet academic environment just for students in our transitional living program. That means:

No big crowds
No distractions or triggers
No getting left behind

Instead, you get one-on-one support, a clear structure, and the chance to actually enjoy learning again. Most students finish in under six months—and from there, many go on to college or take their next steps with confidence.

School Schedule & Structure

Classes are held Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This leaves time in the afternoons for job training, therapy, group outings, and all the other elements that make our recovery program complete.

You’ll work at your own pace using a blend of independent study curriculum and real-time instruction. Everything is built to help you succeed without overwhelming you.

Meet Pivot's Lead Teacher: Denise King

Denise King is the Lead Teacher at Pivot and has led the high school academic program for students in transitional living since 2012. Prior to this, she served for 15 years as the Assistant Director of a private school in Tucson, working with students in grades 7–12. During that time, she specialized in individualized education and supplemental programs designed for students with learning differences, including processing challenges, dyslexia, and ADD/ADHD. A Tucson native, Denise holds a B.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Arizona.
