About Pivot

Structure. Independence. Growth. Community.

We support young men as they move from treatment into real life - with structure, responsibility, and the space to discover who they want to become.

Pivot is a transitional living program in Tucson, Arizona, designed for young adults who are in recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. Spread across three age-specific campuses, our residents have already done the hard work of getting clean and sober. Now, they’re ready to take the next step: learning how to live well.

For most young adults, the leap from treatment to independence is too big to take all at once. That’s why we offer a bridge - a place to build life skills, strengthen recovery, grow emotionally, and figure out what adulthood looks like, without going it alone.

Pivot Transitional Living: What We Do

Pivot helps young men rebuild their lives through a blend of:

  • Structured sober living with phased independence
  • Licensed clinical support for mental health and trauma treatment
  • 12-step immersion and active recovery community connection
  • Life skills development (budgeting, time management, job readiness, etc.)
  • Academic and vocational support including college enrollment and high school completion
  • Service work, fitness, and fun—because recovery has to be sustainable and meaningful

Our model is hands-on, highly personalized, and rooted in the belief that young people thrive when they’re trusted, supported, and challenged to grow.

Who We Serve: Young Adult Men at Pivot

Our typical resident is a young man who’s completed a residential, intensive outpatient, or wilderness program for substance use and mental health. He may be early in his commitment to sobriety, but he’s willing to keep going. We help build on that willingness with real-world experience and daily responsibility.

Residents come from across the country, often with the support of parents, clinicians, and educational consultants. What they find at Pivot is a community of peers who “get it”—and a team who will walk with them as they step into independence with courage and clarity.

Why Tucson?

Our program is located in the heart of Tucson, a city known for its outdoor beauty, strong 12-step community, and vibrant recovery scene. We’re just minutes from the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and countless volunteer and job opportunities. With over 300 recovery meetings per week in the area, residents have no shortage of ways to stay connected.

This is a city where vibrant culture and youthful energy collide. Whether you're catching a Wildcats game, exploring indie coffee shops, or joining a community festival, Tucson pulses with life and celebrates new beginnings.

Plus, with year-round sunshine, hiking, sports, music, and local art, Tucson gives young adults the chance to experience sober life that’s full of color and momentum—not isolation.
